3/2/2024 0 Comments Jibber jabber ecardsDates are not that hard to set up and it’s unbelievable sometimes the lack of effort that presents itself once you start online dating, and this is really from both sides. But also, on my end, texting with someone and finding out that this just isn’t going to work out due to the brief texting exchanges we’ve had. So mostly I chalk this up to men who are scared slash lazy to set up a date. So I coined this term pre-ghost recently and this involves cases in which you trade numbers with someone in the hopes of setting up a date and either they just never text you OR you do start texting but nothing gets set up so then you just stop responding back to their texts, essentially ghosting them before you’ve even had a chance to meet! Despite showing some earlier gumption, this guy sounds like a big old weenie. Also, I “meant to do X, but didn’t” seemed like a real bad start here. But instead of him saying, great I’ll call you, he instead writes his number down and gives it to me and says actually maybe you should set this up. I get to talking to a guy and he seemed cute and all and he asks me if I want to go out. ![]() In what world, after I give you my number, do you then respond back with your number and your schedule as if I’m now supposed to set everything up? I equate this to, say I was in a bar. He didn’t ghost, but certainly proved to be one lazy son of a bitch. Five days later, still no message, so I was bummed that someone who really seemed to be the best date planner ever, pre-ghosted. I told him I was out of town this weekend but definitely free the next and gave him my number. He read my profile and seemed utterly amazed by it and asked me out immediately. Keep you posted!īachelor #3 is a conundrum. He said he’d love to grab a drink and asked about my schedule. So I had traded messages with Bachelor #2 over the course of a couple weeks! Finally, I pulled the here’s my number trigger and four days later I finally heard from him! Unlike Bachelor #1, Bachelor #2 went immediately to the date planning. However, with Hinge the messages definitely seem to be few and far between. I’ve used it a couple times in the past but they’ve redone their format a couple times and so far this time it’s working pretty well for me. But that day my friends never came! I definitely could have pulled that trigger, but I need to see a little gumption here! I mean did he really just want to chit chat forever because I sure don’t.īachelor #2 I got from Hinge, which is a relatively new dating app for me. Both things that gave me pause, but I would still be willing to go on a date with him if he asked me. ![]() I learned he his job veered towards the very religious and that he wasn’t super well traveled. So I threw out my new stock message and a couple days later I heard from him! Hooray! Unfortunately, our messages mimicked much of what happened online. Now, with the ease of a simple message, the ball is now in their court and if they really want to meet me, we’ll they will have to show just that much more effort by inputting a phone number into their phone and sending me a message! Sounds easy, right? Here’s how it went with 3 bachelors last week.īachelor #1 number messaged me about my game show stint and after a couple messages I learned we both had a podcast and overall we seemed to have a lot in common. ![]() I like to send a max of 3 messages on the app and if by that time, there is still not talk of actually meeting up, then I simply say “Well if you feel like getting a drink sometime, here’s my #. In lieu of this, I’ve adopted my 3 messages limit. But I constantly wonder why it’s so hard to get these guys to set up dates? Not waste people’s time! Whether you just wanna bone or are looking for the love of your life, a dating app can certainly help you. I’m bloody sick and tired of how hard it is to set up dates these days?! Can’t we all agree that the point of dating apps is to actually go on an actual date? Not to be pen pals with a stranger.
